How long does it take to form an LLC?

How long does it take to form an LLC? About two minutes on your side, and usually 1–3 business days on the State's. With EXNNA you place the order online, we file it with New Mexico (NM), a U.S. state, and your documents are ready to download as soon as the State approves. The EIN, if you want one, follows on its own and never holds up the formation.
How long does it take to form an LLC, step by step?
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Order | About 2 minutes |
| Contract and payment | Online, in the same session |
| State approval | Usually 1–3 business days |
| Your documents | Ready once the State approves |
The order asks for a company name, two backups, the number of members and an email. No ID documents are needed. You sign the service agreement online and pay the total in U.S. dollars or in your local currency, where available, by card. See how to form an LLC online, step by step.
What happens after you pay?
Your dashboard shows five statuses, live:
- Order received. Your order and payment are in.
- In progress. We prepare your Articles of Organization, the filing that creates the company, and sign them as organizer.
- Waiting on the state. The filing is with the New Mexico Secretary of State.
- LLC formed. The State approved it.
- Documents ready. Your Articles and Operating Agreement are in your dashboard.

What can slow down LLC formation?
Mostly the name. If your first choice is taken, a filing has to start over. That's why the order asks for two backups: we file the first one available, without stopping to ask you. Read the New Mexico LLC name rules before you pick.
The other variable is the State itself. It sets its own pace, and 1–3 business days is the usual range.
When do you get the documents?
The moment the status reaches Documents ready. You get the Articles of Organization in PDF and the Operating Agreement in PDF and editable DOCX. If you gave us the members' details, the Operating Agreement arrives filled in. If not, the fields are blank for you to complete.
How long does the EIN take?
The EIN is the LLC's federal tax ID, and it's issued by the IRS, not by the State. So it runs separately and never delays your formation documents. EIN assistance is optional, +$50 with your formation. The details are in EIN without an SSN.
What can you do while you wait?
- Get your member details ready, if you want the Operating Agreement filled in.
- Pick a bank or fintech. Most will ask for the Articles, the Operating Agreement and the EIN. Here's how a U.S. bank account for a non-resident LLC works.
- Watch the dashboard. It updates as the State responds.
