A U.S. business address for non-residents
Last verified: 3 min read

As a non-resident, your LLC gets its U.S. business address from its registered agent. A New Mexico LLC must keep a registered agent and a registered office in New Mexico (NM), a U.S. state, at all times, and EXNNA provides both for the first 12 months. Official mail goes there, letters are scanned to your dashboard, and your home address stays off the public record.
Which U.S. business address does a non-resident LLC need?
The law asks for one thing: a registered agent with a physical address in New Mexico, called the registered office. That's where the State, and anyone suing the company, can reach it. You don't need a U.S. home or an office lease to meet it. Learn what a registered agent does.
What is the difference between a registered agent address and a mailing address?
| Registered agent address | Mailing address | |
|---|---|---|
| What it's for | Official and legal mail | Everyday company mail |
| Who asks for it | The State requires it | Banks, providers and partners may |
| On the record | Yes | Yes |
Banks and payment providers decide which addresses they accept. Ask yours before you apply. Here's how a U.S. bank account for a non-resident LLC works.
What does EXNNA's U.S. business address include?
- Registered agent for 12 months, included in the $200
- Basic mail: 3 letters a year, scanned to your dashboard, readable from anywhere
- Physical forwarding of paper originals, for a fee
After the first year, the registered agent renews at $99 a year, only if you renew, from your dashboard or by automatic renewal. You can also name your own eligible New Mexico registered agent at the same price.
Does your home address appear on the public record?
No. Anyone can search New Mexico's business records. For an LLC formed with EXNNA, the record shows our registered agent and its New Mexico address, and EXNNA as organizer. Member and Manager Information reads "None Entered". The address people find belongs to us. Read whether an LLC owner's name is public.
How does a non-resident set it up?
You form the LLC and the address comes with it. The order takes about two minutes: a company name, two backups, the number of members and an email. No ID documents are needed. You sign online and pay the total in U.S. dollars or in your local currency, where available, by card. Anyone can open one, any individual, with or without a passport, except people in the small number of sanctioned countries.
The State usually approves in 1–3 business days. The full picture for founders abroad is in how to form a U.S. LLC as a non-resident, and every option is on our pricing.
