How much does an LLC cost? Every fee, line by line
Last verified: 3 min read

An LLC with EXNNA costs $200 in total. That includes the $50 State fee of New Mexico (NM), a U.S. state, plus 12 months of registered agent, basic mail and your Operating Agreement. After the first year, the only recurring cost is the registered agent at $99 a year, and only if you renew with us. New Mexico charges no annual State fee.
What is included in the $200?
| Item | What you get | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| State filing fee | New Mexico, NMSA 1978 § 53-19-63 | $50 |
| Registered agent | Our New Mexico address for official mail, 1 year | Included |
| Basic mail | 3 letters a year, scanned to your dashboard | Included |
| Operating Agreement | PDF and editable DOCX | Included |
| Dashboard | Every step and every document | Included |
| Total | $200 |
You see one total before you pay, and you pay it in U.S. dollars or in your local currency, where available, by card, online.
What costs extra?
Only what you choose:
- EIN assistance. +$50 with your formation, or $79 later on its own. The EIN is the LLC's federal tax ID, and you'll usually need it for a bank account. See how to get an EIN without an SSN.
- Physical mail forwarding. If you need the paper original, we forward it for a fee.
- Custom Operating Agreement work. Basic adjustments are included. New clauses or a restructuring are quoted first.
How much does an LLC cost per year?
In New Mexico, almost nothing. There's no annual report and no annual State fee. The LLC just has to keep a registered agent in the state, which is why ours is included for the first 12 months.
| Year one | Every year after | |
|---|---|---|
| EXNNA formation | $200 | None |
| Registered agent | Included | $99, only if you renew |
| New Mexico annual fee | None | None |
You can also name your own eligible New Mexico registered agent instead of ours, at the same price. Learn what a registered agent does.
How do State fees compare in New Mexico, Wyoming and Delaware?
| New Mexico | Wyoming | Delaware | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Formation fee | $50 | $100 | $110 |
| Annual report | None | Yes | None |
| Yearly cost | None | License tax: $60 or 0.0002 of Wyoming assets, whichever is greater | Annual tax: $400, due June 1 |
These are State fees only, before any registered agent or service. New Mexico is the cheapest to form and to keep. The full comparison is in New Mexico vs Wyoming vs Delaware, and the cheapest state to form an LLC goes deeper on price.
How do you compare LLC costs?
Look at what's in the number. A low headline price often leaves out the State fee, the registered agent or the Operating Agreement, and you pay for them later. Ask four questions: Is the State fee included? Is the registered agent included, and for how long? What does renewal cost? Is the Operating Agreement part of the package?
With EXNNA the answers are yes, yes for 12 months, $99 a year, and yes. Everything is on our pricing.
